God bless your lives together. May you have enough tears to keep you tender, enough hurts to keep you human, enough failures to keep you tightly clutching God’s hand, and enough blessings to affirm that you are indeed God’s children.
No relationship is perfect, ever. There are always some ways you have to bend, to compromise, to give something up in order to gain something greater…The love we have for each other is bigger than these small differences. And that’s the key. It’s like a big pie chart, and the love in a relationship has to be the biggest piece. Love can make up for a lot.
Blessed are you, loving Father, Ruler of the universe: You have given us Your Son as Your Leader, And have made us temples of Your Holy Spirit. Fill our family with Your light and peace. Have mercy on all who suffer, And bring us to everlasting joy with You. Father, We bless Your Name for ever and ever. Amen.
Dear Lord, with Mary and Joseph, you have lived within a family; Teach me always to appreciate the precious gift of being part of a family. Show me ever new ways to protect and comfort those closest to me, and Let me, each day, do something that will say ‘I love you’ without speaking the words. But remind me also to frequently say those words. Let me never part from any member of my family in anger. Prompt me always to turn back without delay - to forgive, and be forgiven. And let me see your image within each person in my own family, and in my greater family, Knowing that in your Kingdom, we will truly be one family, United by your sacrifice on the cross. Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for this life, for the gift of love, and the blessing of our marriage. We give you praise for the joy you’ve poured into our hearts through this love, for the contentment of family, and the happiness of our home. May we always treasure the experience of loving each other in this holy union. Help us to remain forever committed to our vows, those we made to each other, and to you, Lord. We will need your strength daily Lord, as we live together with the goal of following and serving you. Develop within is us the character of your Son, Jesus, that we might love each other with the love he demonstrated—with patience, respect, understanding, honesty, forgiveness and kindness. Let us always be a support to one another—a friend to listen and encourage, a refuge from the storm, and most importantly, a warrior in prayer. Holy Spirit, guide us through the difficult moments of life and comfort us in our grief. May our lives together bring glory to you, our Savior, and testify of your love. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
